Concrete Floor Preparation & Polishing
This project at Fire Hall No. 6 involved extensive concrete floor preparation, joint repair, and polishing across large apparatus bays and interior operational areas. The scope focused on delivering a durable, high-performance surface capable of withstanding heavy fire trucks, equipment movement, and continuous daily use.
Work began with detailed surface grinding to remove construction residue, level uneven areas, and expose a clean concrete substrate. Expansion joints and control joints were carefully cleaned, repaired, and filled to ensure structural integrity while allowing for natural slab movement. Areas with visible wear or imperfections were treated to create a uniform and consistent base.
Following preparation, the concrete was polished to achieve a smooth, refined finish that enhances light reflectivity and improves overall visibility within the space. The finished surface offers excellent durability, reduced dusting, and low maintenance—key requirements for emergency response facilities.
The completed flooring system provides Fire Hall No. 6 with a clean, professional-grade concrete surface designed to perform under demanding conditions while maintaining a modern, functional appearance suited to an active fire station environment.
