Concrete Surface Preparation & Protective Coating

This project at the Victoria ICBC Parkade involved comprehensive concrete surface preparation and the installation of a high-performance protective coating system across the upper parkade level. The goal was to deliver a durable, weather-resistant surface designed to handle vehicle traffic, environmental exposure, and long-term daily use.

The project began with mechanical surface preparation, including grinding and cleaning to remove contaminants and ensure proper adhesion of the new coating system. All existing joints and transitions were carefully addressed to accommodate structural movement while maintaining surface continuity. The prepared concrete provided a clean, stable substrate for the application process.

A specialized traffic-grade coating system was then installed to create a seamless, uniform finish. The final surface enhances slip resistance, improves drainage performance, and provides long-lasting protection against moisture, UV exposure, and wear caused by vehicle movement. The finished coating also improves the overall appearance of the parkade, delivering a clean, professional look that aligns with ICBC facility standards.

The completed Victoria ICBC Parkade now features a durable, low-maintenance concrete surface engineered for performance, safety, and longevity in a high-traffic commercial parking environment.
