This project at Market Square in downtown Victoria involved the waterproofing and restoration of an outdoor concrete plaza located above occupied spaces. The goal was to protect the concrete structure from moisture intrusion while delivering a durable, seamless, and visually clean surface suitable for high pedestrian traffic in a busy public environment.
The existing concrete surface showed signs of cracking, wear, and water penetration. Our team began with thorough surface preparation, including crack repair, joint treatment, and detailed edge work around railings and transitions. Once prepared, a high-performance waterproof coating system was applied to create a fully sealed, monolithic surface that prevents water ingress while accommodating natural concrete movement.
The finished surface provides long-term protection against rain, freeze-thaw cycles, and daily foot traffic, all while maintaining a clean, modern appearance that complements the surrounding retail and heritage architecture. This solution ensures the plaza remains safe, functional, and visually appealing for visitors, tenants, and pedestrians year-round.
