Parkade Epoxy Floor Coating

This project at Francis Street Parkade involved the installation of a high-performance epoxy flooring system designed to protect and enhance a large underground parking structure. The objective was to create a durable, moisture-resistant surface capable of withstanding vehicle traffic, tire abrasion, and long-term exposure to water and environmental contaminants.

The work began with detailed surface preparation, including mechanical grinding to remove laitance and ensure proper adhesion across the concrete slab. Cracks, joints, and perimeter edges were carefully addressed to promote uniform performance and seamless transitions throughout the parkade. Particular attention was given to columns, drains, and wall interfaces to ensure complete coverage and long-term protection.

A commercial-grade epoxy coating was then applied evenly across the floor, creating a smooth, seamless finish with enhanced durability. The light grey coating improves visibility within the parkade while offering excellent resistance to moisture intrusion, oil drips, and chemical exposure. Its subtle texture provides added slip resistance, contributing to safer vehicle and pedestrian movement.
